huh...

so, I was having a bit of trouble with the email-to-xanga thing. I figured out that it seemed like you needed to send it directly to the posting email (mailing lists wouldn't work). So, I sent Xanga an email, basically checking if this was the case. I didn't get a response after the first day, so I just switched to sending it directly to xanga, cause people seemed to prefer that anyway. I finally got a response from a "Chris at Xanga." I didn't really think much of that... anyway, it basically said "Thanks for bringing this to our attention, we're really sorry (he actually said "terribly"), we've patched the problem and are working on a perminite solution. try it again, and tell us if you have any problems." Ok... I never really intended to point that out to them, but I guess I did... I wrote back that it seemed to work fine now, except for the formatting problems (no bold, links, line breaks were a bit funky...). I started to wonder why it had taken so long to reply, when I saw this:

"Most Starred
Starting now, if enough people give a lot of stars to a weblog, photo, or video, it will be automatically submitted to http://star.xanga.com. more from chris" (more from chris is a link).

That was when it clicked. maybe chris was a bit... busy? upgrading and maintaining an enormous, high traffic web site? it's pretty impressive that he found time to reply to help emails at all... so... yea... whoops... my bad >.>.

 

Hmmm... Chris would be the one to ask, I'm guessing, about any future plans for an interface that would, maybe, allow for Windows Live Writer posting... but, now, asking something like that seems a bit rude... and pushy...

 

my plans of posting to blogger, which would forward the post to an email address, which would be received by a wordpress site on my computer, which would publish those emails to the wordpress site, which would crosspost the posts to my xanga got a bit complicated... so... not doing it xD.

 

Anyway, sorry I've been so emo lately... i've just been getting really pissed off at an increasing number of people...
